All police staff play a vital role supporting front line policing and to reflect this valuable contribution we offer an excellent benefits package. It includes a number of rewards that ensure your career remains in a healthy position and that you feel valued.
Career progression
At Thames Valley Police, the Learning and Development team helps all Police staff to learn new skills, build their performance and enhance their career. Whatever you want to achieve in your career, you’ll find that we are committed to supporting your goals however we can.
Flexible working
We believe that flexible working is about achieving a good work-life balance. Should you choose to join, straight away you’ll see that we are committed to achieving a work-life balance for you.
Job security
Despite the current uncertain employment climate in the UK, redundancies are very rare indeed at Thames Valley Police. Should your role cease to exist, we are committed to finding you another role within the Force appropriate to your skills.
Support
Whatever your job, you’ll be well supported at Thames Valley Police. Our Corporate Health and Support Services Department are always on hand to offer confidential help, guidance and treatment - from physiotherapy and flu vaccines to financial advice, multi-faith support and counselling.
Other benefits
We operate a contributory pension scheme, occupational health services, generous annual leave, maternity, paternity & adoption leave, a charity donation scheme, learning and leadership programmes and an on-site library. We operate a performance related pay scheme with salary progression, achieved by satisfactory performance and assessed through an annual appraisal system. We are also hoping to introduce a total reward statement, which maximises the combined impact of a wide range of reward initiatives. Staff can view each aspect of their reward package, as well as look at the impact of certain benefits on their pay and on their future finances.
We currently operate a Cycle to Work and childcare vouchers schemes, which provide savings through additional tax relief. We are investigating the Green Travel to work scheme offering further savings on public transport and additional tax relief.
Significant corporate benefits, discounts and savings are available across a number of interests, including fashion, eating out, motoring, travel, hair and beauty, gyms, Pilates, theatres, theme parks, home computing, sports and social club memberships, spectator sports, financial and legal services and health and welfare.
